Toledo Pickleball is excited to announce that the owners of the Perrysburg Tennis Center are interested in providing another indoor venue for Pickleball in our local area.
They are adding four Pickleball courts to their large indoor facility located at 1750 Progress Drive in Perrysburg, Ohio. To get things started they will be offering free play from Monday, Dec 14 through Friday, Dec 18 between 1:00-3:00pm.
If you are interested in playing, please send an email to Bob at firstname.lastname@example.org
In your email please let them know which day you would like to attend and also and one backup date. They will only assign you to your backup date if your primary date is full. They will be limiting participation to 24 players per day.
If any dates don’t fill up, they will allow some players to play on their backup dates as well. After playing we will ask you to fill out a brief questionnaire.

Toledo Pickleball Club members or non members who live in Sylvania are asked to attend the Sylvania Area Recreation District board meeting on Tuesday November 24 at 7:30am to support building pickleball courts in Sylvania. The Rec board is interested in knowing how many residents of Sylvania are actively playing pickleball in other communities. Lets show them with a large turnout of players! Be at the West Entrance to Tamoshanter (Sylvania Ave, behind the Sylvania Senior Center) by 7:15am. Email Betsy Kenniston at email@example.com if you have any questions.
Thanks for your support!!
Good Morning Everyone,
I hope you are all enjoying this somewhat warmer weather. It gets me super excited to think we might be playing OUTDOOR Pickleball soon!!! I am a bit partial to outdoor play!
I apologize for this very late post regarding a our first ever “beginner” pickleball session. This class is dedicated to those players who have never played the game before or for those who like to play a less competitive style of play. This is a great opportunity to tell your friends about Pickleball and ask them to come and give it a try. Here are the details of the class:
Where: West YMCA 2110 Tremainsville Road, Toledo OH
When: February 29-April 18, 2012 8:45am-11:15am
Cost: $10 for Max Members or $20.oo Associate Members
One need that we have is instructors. We really need to make sure someone is there each week to help with the rules, set up of the courts and to make it fun! A huge big thank you to Sandy Kushma for taking the lead on this and being our first instructor. Sandy will not be able to cover the class next week so please call or email me if you are interested in helping out with this great opportunity.
See you on the courts!
I wanted to send out some great news. We have a new location in the Toledo area for Drop-In Indoor Pickleball!!!! I am super excited about this opportunity because it will open the Pickleball door to so many great tennis players at the Laurel Hill and Toledo Tennis Clubs.
Starting February 1, 2012 there will be drop-in Pickleball at the Laurel Hill Tennis and Swim Club 2222 Cass Road, Toledo OH 43624. The fee will be $5.oo per player and the time will be from 1-3pm every Wednesday! If the Wednesday session is successful, they are thinking of opening up another day as well.
A big thank you to Kay Peterson for getting this all started. I also want to thank all of the folks who went out to help teach and demo last Friday….Connie, Chris K., Tim Hacker, Tom Wells, Sandy Kushma, Jeff Chantiny, Judy Lambert, and Vicki McGrath ( I hope I am not missing anyone)!!! You are all so willing to help and I really want you all to know how much it is appreciated!
I hope many of you will participate and be a part of this opportunity. Please tell your friends about it that might live in that area.
It is amazing to look at the calendar on the blog and see an opportunity to play Pickleball in the Toledo area almost everyday of the week!! Checkout my calendar tab if you have a chance.
If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to call/emaill me or Pat Birney at Laurel Hill Tennis Club 419-381-0550.
See you on the court!
Great news, we have been given the okay to use the Rossford United Methodist Church gym for pickleball. The coordinator is working on a calendar of dates available. The $3. drop-in fee is the same as Tam-O.
Would you give us an idea of preference of evenings you would like. We can have Tues., Wed., some Thurs., Fri. evenings probably from 6 to 9 pm. We can also set up play for The Friday and Saturday after Thanksgiving. All Sundays are unavailable.
As soon as I get numbers from you all, I will work to coordinate and get the dates out to everyone. There might be times we will have to be flexible, like when they have rummage sales and Christmas/Easter events during the week.
